Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski affirmed his Government is looking for permanent solutions to tackle housing shortage in the country so as to benefit numerous "Coastal El Niño" victims in northern regions.
Speaking from northern La Libertad region, he said delivering housing modules is a temporary solution. Meanwhile, the Government works to make basic services available to those affected, so they can live in greater comfort.
"Peru and Trujillo need lots of new houses, water and roads. The situation is temporary […] we need a permanent solution, and we are working on it," the statesman told the population.
He was joined by Housing, Construction and Sanitation Minister Edmer Trujillo, Authority for Reconstruction with Changes (RCC) Executive-Director Pablo de la Flor and La Libertad Governor Luis Valdez.
During his visit, the statesman delivered 80
housing units to homeless, displaced families affected by heavy rains earlier this year.
Mr. Kuczynski said his administration is working hand in hand with La Libertad regional government, so that victims can settle in a new residential area with basic water and sewage services.
