Peru's Foreign Affairs Minister Ricardo Luna will meet on Tuesday with U.S. Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson to discuss issues on the bilateral and multilateral agenda.
The authorities are planning to coordinate their joint efforts against drug trafficking and the mutual benefit under the United States–Peru Trade Promotion Agreement.
The preparatory process leading to the 8th Summit of the Americas and Venezuela's current situation will be addressed as part of this dialogue as well.
As part of his Washington D.C. tour, Peru's top diplomat will attend a meeting organized by the
Inter-American Dialogue (IAD), a U.S. based center for policy analysis, exchange, and communication on issues in Western Hemisphere affairs based in Washington, D.C.
Luna's trip to the United States will take place November 19-22, according to a supreme resolution published in the official newspaper El Peruano.
The document was signed by Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, Prime Minister Mercedes Araoz and Ministers Ricardo Luna (Foreign Affairs) and Salvador del Solar (Culture).
