The financing for some regional projects —worth around S/1.3 billion (about US$403 million)— was approved at the extraordinary session of GORE-Executive (Executive Branch and Regional Governors Meeting), President Martin Vizcarra informed Tuesday.
According to the Peruvian leader, said financing is the result of efforts undertaken by the State in coordination with regional authorities through five-panel discussions: health, education, housing and sanitation, agriculture and transport, as well as reconstruction.
"The financing requirement for
projects received in 90 to 100 meetings has amounted to more than S/5 billion (about US$1.55 billion). Yesterday, S/1.3 billion (about US$403 million) has been approved," the statesman noted.
President Vizcarra explained this does not mean the remaining amount will not be accepted, but there will be more time to assess it.
The Head of State also highlighted said amount will be transferred quickly, taking into account there is already an agreement within the framework of the GORE-Executive.
"Unlike other meetings, each panel discussion saw the presence of Economy and Finance Ministry representatives," Mr. Vizcarra pointed out.
Joined by
Prime Minister Cesar Villanueva, the statesman underlined there is will and commitment to join efforts in favor of the population living in regions.
Lastly, he noted the Peruvian Government seeks to make up for lost time and regain confidence through concrete actions.
