33,421 tourists arrived in Peru's amazing Colca Valley last August, up by 8% over the same month in 2016.

Located in Caylloma province, Colca Valley is one of the most visited tourist attractions in Southern Arequipa region.

According to State-run Colca Valley Autonomous Authority (Autocolca), said increase was underpinned not only by the current peak season but also by tourism promotion efforts.

As is known, Arequipa City celebrated its anniversary last August.

In the said month, Autocolca collected S/1.2 million (about US$370,370) that will be invested in local works aimed at improving access to the valley, among other duties.

It must be noted 32,919 tourists visited Colca Valley last July.
