The presidents and vice presidents of Ibero American legislative bodies on Friday condemned the breakdown of democratic order in Venezuela and rejected the recent terrorist attacks in Spain, Finland and Germany.

The "Parliamentary Dialogue for Democracy" forum resulted in two pronouncements. One of them was the Lima Declaration, which rejects Venezuela's Constituent Assembly and its actions, plus it demands Maduro regime end repression against dissenting voices.

Likewise, the document invoked the Democratic Charter against Venezuela, and reiterated democratic elections monitored by international and domestic observers constitutes the only way to come out of such tough situation.

In this sense, authorities called for a solution "without coup d'état, self-coup d'état or foreign military intervention."

The second formal statement was the "Declaration against Terrorism," which deplored recent terror attacks in Spain, Finland and Germany.

Congress representatives arrived from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Panama, and Spain to join Peruvian Legislative Branch Chairman Luis Galarreta at the forum.

The Ibero-American group held a private meeting at Lima's Parliament headquarters.

During the meeting, Galarreta said it is time to take action and deal with the tragic political-social situation facing the oil country.
