Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) highlighted Paolo Guerrero's return to the national squad and praised his performance at the friendly match against Saudi Arabia held last Sunday in Switzerland.
In this sense, Guerrero was chosen the top athlete of all the friendly matches played on the same day.
"Almost eight months later, the striker returned to wear the red-white jersey, and he celebrated it in style," FIFA noted on its website.
Likewise, FIFA pointed out the captain did not disappoint Peruvian fans, who eagerly awaited his return, after the long struggle he undertook to prove his innocence.
