The meeting will take place on Wednesday, according to a supreme resolution approved last weekend by the Executive Branch. Said document granted the cabinet member permission to travel overseas for related official purposes.
"Peru, as
current president of the UN Security Council, has convened a high-level information session on the Council's role in the promotion of sustainable peace (...)," reads a message posted by the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
Furthermore, the government official reaffirmed Peru's commitment to
peace and
conflict prevention.
The dignitary also ratified
corruption is a transnational threat that affects democratic governance and undermines efforts to achieve peace worldwide.
Additionally, he recalled the strengthening of democratic governance and fight against
corruption across the region was prioritized at the
8th Summit of the Americas held in Lima (Peru) on April 13-14.
Lastly, Popolizio noted that peace, security, development, and human rights are interdependent and strengthen each other.
