Peru holds first training session ahead of Croatia friendly

Peru's national soccer team held its first training session in Fort Lauderdale, Miami ahead of their first friendly against Croatia —scheduled for Friday at 7:00 PM (local time).

Led by coach Ricardo Gareca, the session featured 16 players. Peruvian midfielder Christian Cueva was one of them. 

It must be noted athletes Andre Carrillo, Cristian Benavente, Anderson Santamaria and Raul Ruidiaz joined the Inca team on Sunday night. 

On the other hand, Paolo Hurtado, Luis Abram, Beto da Silva, Renato Tapia and Edison Flores are set to arrive on Monday. 

Peruvian players arrived on Sunday after a five-and-a-half-hour flight from Lima.

They were welcomed by a large number of fans, who gathered outside Wilcox Field Airport to take a picture with them.

Peru will face Croatia at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on March 23.

Later, the national squad will play Iceland at Red Bull Arena in Harrison on March 27.
