The National Superior Criminal Prosecutor's Office specialized in Terrorism Crimes and related offenses managed to secure a 35-year prison sentence for Elena Iparraguirre, Florindo Flores (alias Comrade Artemio), Osman Morote, Maria Pantoja, Margot Liendo, and Victoria Trujillo for the crime of terrorism in the form of a terrorist organization, as part of the case known as Perseo.

Alfredo Crespo, Fernando Olortegui, Atilio Cahuana, Carlos Gamero, Olmer Apac, and Zulma Peña were also sentenced to 16 years and three (3) months in prison for the crime of affiliation to a terrorist organization.

Another 23 defendants accused of the same crime received sentences ranging from 16 and 15 years.

According to the Prosecutor's Office, the defendants, including members of the Shining Path terrorist leadership structure, contributed to the creation, operation, and financing of activities of the terrorist-linked Movement for Amnesty and Fundamental Rights (Movadef).

The formation of this movement was due to the orders of Sendero Luminoso (Shining Path) terrorist group ringleader Abimael Guzman, who, despite having been in prison since 1992, continued to issue directives to terrorists both in prison and at large.

It should be noted that, as part of the sentence, the legal entity Movadef was ordered to be dissolved, along with the shutdown of all its premises.
