The Acting Chairman of Congress, Fernando Rospigliosi, on Friday called an extraordinary plenary session for Tuesday, February 17.
Via its official X account, Parliament announced the session will begin at 10:00 a.m. (local time) at the Legislative Branch's Jose Faustino Sanchez Carrion Auditorium.
"By order of the Acting Chairman of Congress, Fernando Rospigliosi, and in accordance with the Congress Regulations, an extraordinary plenary session is hereby convened for Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at the Jose Faustino Sanchez Carrion Building Auditorium," reads the text summoning lawmakers to the extraordinary session, issued by Parliament's Senior Clerk, Giovanni Forno.
Seven motions
According to the agenda for the extraordinary plenary session, lawmakers will address seven censure motions on Tuesday against Congress Chairman Jose Jeri, who is serving as President of the Republic by constitutional succession.
The first three motions—Nos. 21240, 21241, and 21247—were submitted on January 21 by lawmakers from various parliamentary groups.
Motions Nos. 21251, 21256, and 21257 also appear on the agenda and were filed on January 22 by members of different congressional groups.
Lastly, motion No. 21284 is included, having been submitted on January 27 by another group of lawmakers.
