The Public Ministry reported that the Supra-Provincial Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Human Rights in Junin is leading proceedings in the locality of Campo Armiño, Colcabamba district, Huancavelica region, as part of the investigation into eight military personnel for the alleged crime of aggravated homicide against five civilians on April 25.
According to information shared through its official channels, the technical inspection of the crime scene and the collection of evidence are being carried out by forensic specialists from the Peruvian National Police in Huancayo, under prosecutorial direction.
These actions seek to clarify the circumstances in which the events under investigation occurred.
Likewise, it was reported that forensic ballistic tests and adhesive residue analysis are being conducted on the damaged pickup truck, which has remained sealed and under police custody since the day of the incident.
The Public Ministry further specified that, over two days, video footage was collected from surveillance cameras located at control checkpoints near the zone. This information will help reconstruct the timeline of events.
Case
The incident occurred on April 25 in a rural area of Colcabamba district, Huancavelica region, within the Valley of Apurimac, Mantaro, and Ene Rivers (VRAEM).
According to previous official information, the operation was carried out by law enforcement forces in support of the police, in an area considered highly complex due to the presence of illicit activities.
Prosecutorial proceedings are ongoing to determine responsibilities in accordance with the law.
