Revenue to the Peruvian State from hydrocarbon (gas and oil) production during the January–March 2026 period totaled US$240 million, an amount that reflects the importance of the sector's contribution to the country's economy,
Of this total, US$123.17 million corresponded to natural gas, US$67.80 million to natural gas liquids, and US$49.61 million to oil nationwide, according to Perupetro.
It said that in March alone, revenue from hydrocarbon production reached US$89.5 million.
Of that amount, natural gas led collections (US$41.3 million), followed by oil (US$25.5 million) and natural gas liquids (US$22.7 million).
A royalty is a form of legally mandated compensation established under Peruvian law through which companies are required to pay the State for the right to exploit hydrocarbon resources (oil and gas).
Royalties are calculated according to the production value, based on the royalty percentage established for each contract.
During 2025, revenue to the Peruvian State from hydrocarbon production totaled US$1.197 billion, and from 1993 to July 2025 such revenue reached US$27.616 billion, Perupetro stated.
