on Wednesday called for strengthening bilateral relations between Peru and Canada, as well as cooperation in technology that minimizes environmental impact.
At this event, the President underscored the importance of mining for both Peru and Canada.
Likewise, the Head of State said he expects the agreement to translate into cutting-edge technological contributions.
In that regard, the top official said the document will help establish a strategic vision that will strengthen bilateral cooperation.
"The energy transition, the development of clean technologies, and the need for secure supply chains have placed critical minerals at the center of global economic development," he said, noting that Peru is ready to sign new agreements to continue improving.
The diplomat said mining is a key sector for a shared economic future.
In that regard, he stressed that signing this MOU marks a milestone in bilateral relations.
The agreement will establish mechanisms for collaboration in the exchange of technical and regulatory knowledge, as well as the adoption of environmental and social standards to promote modern and competitive mining.
This event was held at the Government Palace in Lima.
