Peru: Defense Minister to base administration on transparency and efficiency

Defense Minister, Brigadier General (ret.) Carlos Diaz Dañino, underscored his commitment to the actions he will undertake during his tenure, within the framework of constitutional roles requiring the guarantee of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and peace for the nation to achieve the established objectives.

"We will base our administration on two fundamental pillars: absolute transparency and efficiency in management. Our work will not only be administrative or strategic, but will go beyond supporting the strengthening of our national identity," he said.

The government official also placed special emphasis on strengthening the sector's capabilities, not only for national defense, but to serve as a firm arm of the Peruvian State in risk management, contributing to national development with the participation of all.

"Let ds work together for the social, sovereign, and dignified well-being of its great history, and let us never forget that modernizing our capabilities means ensuring peace and progress for future generations. United, we will accomplish that mission in the short time we have left in this administration," he underscored.

The Chief of the Joint Command of the Armed Forces, Army General Cesar Briceño, attended the ceremony, together with the General Commanders of the Army, Oswaldo Calle, the Navy, Admiral Javier Bravo de Rueda, and the Air Force, Air General Mario Raul Contreras.

Similarly, Secretary General Maria Cecilia Chumbe was present, along with other officials from the Ministry of Defense and its affiliated bodies, as well as all civilian and military personnel of the institution.
