In parallel with the boost in tourism, the government official underscored that his sector is consolidating foreign trade performance.
"Peru is advancing toward a historic target of US$100 billion in exports in 2026 as part of a policy to strengthen competitiveness and open new markets," Reyes said in an interview with TV Peru.
"This objective is based on the sustained growth of key products such as blueberries, avocados, and grapes, as well as the negotiation and optimization of trade agreements with various countries," he indicated.
Cabinet priorities
The minister said that, in line with what was previously reported by Prime Minister Luis Arroyo, the government is working in a coordinated manner on three priority areas.
"The strengthening of citizen security, the promotion of the protection of people against weather-related phenomena, and the guarantee of a calm and safe electoral process that enables an orderly democratic transition to the next government," he concluded.
