reported that cumulative investment from January to December 2025 exceeded US$6.228 billion, 24.3% growth compared with the same period in 2024 (US$5.011 billion).
This figure reflects renewed momentum and investor confidence in the development of mining projects in Peru.
According to Minem, the mining sector's positive performance is reflected in gains across several segments, including Infrastructure (39.9%), Exploration (38.5%), Other categories (32.2%), and Mining Equipment (31.1%).
More moderate increases were reported in Development and Preparation (6.2%) and Beneficiation Plant (3.2%).
The government agency reported that mining investment reached US$1.093 billion in December 2025, the highest monthly figure of the year, marking 67.9% growth compared with November.
The increase reflected advances in Mining Equipment (160.4%), Infrastructure (69.4%), Beneficiation Plant (55.8%), Development and Preparation (54%), and Other categories (15.9%).
"Investment in the Mining Equipment segment reached US$362 million in December 2025, representing 160.4% growth compared with November 2025. In cumulative terms from January to December 2025, investment totaled US$1.303 billion, a 31.1% growth compared with the same period in 2024 (US$994 million)," the ministry said.
Regarding Infrastructure investment, it reached US$305 million in December 2025, representing a 69.4% increase compared with November 2025, while cumulative investment for the year totaled US$1.582 billion, marking 39.9% versus the same period a year earlier.
Meanwhile, Exploration investment totaled US$93 million in December 2025, registering 20.4% year-on-year growth compared with the same month in 2024.
On a cumulative basis from January to December, investment reached US$788 million, 38.5% higher than in the same period of 2024 (US$569 million).
At the regional level, as of the end of 2025, Moquegua was the main destination for investment, with US$799 million, representing 11.7% year-on-year growth from the same period in 2024. It was followed by Ancash (US$790.3 million) and Arequipa (US$790.1 million).
