The President of the Republic, Jose Maria Balcazar, stated Friday that the government is committed to La Libertad and will support the northern region's projects, such as Chavimochic and the regional hospital.

"Rest assured that we will deliver," the Head of State said during his working visit to the city of Trujillo.

There, after touring the new local criminalistics laboratory, which will strengthen the fight against crime and delinquency, the President reported that 500 police agents had been deployed to the region.

In turn, Region Governor Joana Cabrera welcomed the measures implemented by the Executive Branch to assist La Libertad.

"We appreciate this fight against citizen security threats in the region and the decision to deploy 500 police agents. That will help us combat crime. We are united in the goal of protecting citizens," Cabrera said.

The new criminalistics laboratory will strengthen response capacity against crime.

In addition, it will help decentralize specialized services and technological tools used to investigate crime in the country's north.
