Peruvian race walker Kimberly Garcia won the 94th Podebrady Walking Race held in the Czech Republic on Friday.

She claimed victory in the 21-kilometer event (1:31:44) in one of the most prestigious competitions on the global race walking circuit.

The sportswoman had previously won at Podebrady. In the 2024 edition, she took first place in the 20 km race after clocking a time of 1h 27min 08s.

Last April, Garcia won the world title in the Race Walking Half Marathon in Brazil, confirming that this year has been one of the best of her career.

Her next competition will be the Gran Premio Cantones de A Coruña in Spain.

Among her medium- and long-term goals are the Lima 2027 Pan American Games and the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

At the latter, she hopes to win a gold medal for Peru, a dream she has not given up on.
