Peru: President meets with U.S. Secretary of State at Government Palace

The President of the Republic, Keiko Fujimori, met with United States' Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the Government Palace in Lima on Thursday morning, as part of his official visit to Peru.


Rubio was received by Fujimori at the Palace headquarters, where he arrived accompanied by Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Carlos Espa and U.S. Ambassador Bernie Navarro.


The U.S. senior official's visit is of special significance for cooperation and collaboration.

The meeting will help deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries and strengthen cooperation ties on matters of priority for our country.

During the meeting, both officials will address issues of common interest, with particular emphasis on strengthening cooperation on the El Niño phenomenon, security, the fight against transnational organized crime, defense, investment promotion, and bilateral trade.
