The Spanish monarch arrived at the Government Palace this afternoon, where he was received by Foreign Affairs Minister Carlos Pareja.
The monarch landed in the Peruvian capital to attend the presidential transfer of power ceremony scheduled July 28.
Following the meeting at the Executive Branch headquarters, President Balcazar bid farewell to the King of Spain, who, upon his departure, received the honors befitting his rank in the Government Palace's Courtyard of Honor.
Felipe VI left the Government Palace accompanied by Minister Pareja, with whom he walked to Torre Tagle Palace, also in Downtown Lima.
Minutes later, President-elect Keiko Fujimori, along with Foreign Affairs Minister-designate Carlos Espá, arrived at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, where they met with the Spanish monarch.
