The Peruvian Government expressed its condolences to the people of Venezuela over the loss of life caused by the earthquakes that struck the South American country last Wednesday.
Likewise, Peru offered humanitarian assistance to Venezuela.
Via X, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Peru is monitoring the situation following the powerful 7.2- and 7.5-magnitude earthquakes.
It added that the humanitarian assistance offered is intended to address the most urgent needs in the affected country.
"Peru is monitoring the situation Venezuela has been facing following the powerful earthquakes that struck the country and has offered humanitarian assistance to help address the urgent needs arising from the disaster," the statement said.
"The Peruvian Government expresses its deepest condolences for the lives lost, reiterates its profound solidarity with the Venezuelan people, and hopes for the speedy recovery of those injured and the affected areas," the Ministry stated in its post.
Yesterday, the Peruvian Government expressed its solidarity with the Venezuelan people following the seismic events.
Peru also announced that, through its Interests Section in Caracas, it remains ready to assist Peruvian nationals should they require assistance.
