The government agency reported increased production of blueberries, oil palm, pecans, and other consumer goods during the January-June period.
The sector grew, driven by increased production in the agricultural (+0.8%) and livestock (+2.0%) subsectors.
For example, the agricultural subsector recorded increases in blueberry output (+23.7%), due to a larger area under cultivation in La Libertad, Lambayeque, and Ica, and sugarcane for sugar production (+23.0%), driven by an increase in the harvested area in La Libertad, Lambayeque, and Piura.
The production of oil palm (+16.7%) stood out in San Martin and Ucayali; hard yellow corn (+10.7%) in Ica, San Martin, and Lambayeque; starchy corn (+9.0%) in Cusco, Cajamarca, and Amazonas; and paddy rice (+7.5%), driven by a larger harvested area in Lambayeque, Tumbes, and Piura.
In the first half of the year, pecan production also stood out (+112%) in Ica, known for producing high-quality, large-sized pecans. Ica is the country's main pecan-producing region.
It is a highly valued fruit both for local consumption and for export.
Meanwhile, the livestock subsector grew by 2% in the first six months of this year compared with the same period in 2025, driven by chicken production.
