The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) has approved the transfer of up to 9.5 million soles ($2.76 million) to the National Infrastructure Authority (ANIN) to fund an investment project aimed at improving public tourism services and facilities at the Choquequirao Archaeological Park, located in the Cusco department.

Ministerial Resolution 394-2026-MINCETUR, published in an extraordinary edition of the "Legal Norms" section of the official gazette *El Peruano*, specifies that the funds will be drawn from the "Ordinary Resources" financing source and allocated to Executing Unit 001-1750 (ANIN).

These resources will fund the initiative titled "Improvement of public tourism services and facilities at the Choquequirao Archaeological Park in the Cusco department" (a non-PPP component).

Often referred to as the "sister of Machu Picchu," Choquequirao features a striking stone city and possesses its own unique history.

The authorized transfer is charged against the 2026 fiscal year institutional budget of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Budgetary Entity 035), specifically through Executing Unit 004 (Investment Executing Unit for Foreign Trade and Tourism). Under penalty of liability, these funds may not be used for any purpose other than that for which they were transferred.

Ministerial Resolution 394-2026-MINCETUR bears the signature of the Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Rogers Valencia Espinoza. More from Andina:
