Private-sector liquidity—which includes currency in circulation plus deposits—posted year-on-year growth of 10.8% in 2025, similar to the previous year, the
"This increase was driven by higher liquidity in local currency, which rose by 10.6%, and in foreign currency, which grew by 11.3%," the issuing entity indicated.
The BCR said that, on a monthly basis, liquidity grew by 3.3% in December 2025; liquidity in local currency expanded by 4.5% in December, while the variation in U.S. dollars was -0.1%.
By component, an increase was observed in 2025 in the year-on-year growth rate of currency in circulation (+14.6%) and deposits (+10.1%).
By type of deposit, savings deposits increased 17.3% year on year, while demand deposits grew by 15.2%, the BCR detailed.
"Compared with November, currency in circulation posted a 4.8% increase, while deposits rose by 3.2%," it added.
