The Presidency of the Republic on Monday extended a warm welcome to each of the leaders from the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum who will be gathering in Lima this week.

This message was shared through a post on the Presidential Office account on the X platform.

"Peru extends a warm welcome to the APEC economic leaders gathering in Lima to conclude the important work we have been leading throughout 2024 as the forum’s host economy," it stated.

As a reminder, APEC Leaders' Week is taking place in Lima from November 9 to 16, with 21 member economies having confirmed their participation.

Representatives from all member economies will be present at the Concluding Senior Officials' Meeting, the APEC Ministerial Meeting on Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the 31st APEC Economic Leaders' Summit.

At these meetings, over 5,000 delegates from the member economies will address the challenges and opportunities facing the region in terms of: trade and investment for inclusive and interconnected growth; innovation and digitalization to promote the transition to a formal and global economy; and sustainable growth for resilient development.

Simultaneously, the APEC Peru 2024 CEO Summit will take place, bringing together over 1,200 business leaders from the Asia-Pacific region at the Gran Teatro Nacional (Gran National Theater) on November 14 and 15.

Among those participating will be the Vice President of Google, the CEO of TikTok, and the Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase, the largest bank in the United States.

On the other hand, the main headquarters of the Ministry of Culture will host the International Media Center, where around 2,000 journalists from national and international outlets will be working.
