Peru: President Jeri arrives in Tacna, participates in flag-raising ceremony

The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, arrived in southern Tacna region on Wednesday morning.

Afterwards, the Head of State participated in the Peruvian Flag raising and the National Anthem singing ceremony. 

The Head of State was accompanied by Defense Minister Cesar Diaz, Interior Minister Vicente Tiburcio, Tacna Region Governor Luis Torres Robledo, and other officials from the Executive Branch.


The National Flag raising and National Anthem singing are part of actions aimed at reinforcing national identity and unity during the state of emergency, according to Supreme Decree No. 127-2025-PCM.

Peru's top official has arrived in Tacna as part of his visits to different regions of the country.

These visits are aimed at engaging in dialogue with the population and defining a new direction for decentralization and support for Peruvians.
