reported that Peruvian exports totaled US$62.864 billion between January and September 2025, a 17.3% increase over the same period in 2024, thanks to a combined rise in export volumes (+9.4%) and prices (+7.3%).
"The export sector is strengthened not only by a favorable international environment but also by a national export policy that has laid the foundations for the sustained growth of our export supply," Minister Teresa Mera underscored.
"Therefore, one of the first decisions of the Transitional Government was the pre-publication of the 2040 Multisectoral National Foreign Trade Policy, the roadmap that will allow us to establish the actions (required) to continue strengthening the sector and maintain this growth," she added.
At the sectoral level, agricultural exports totaled US$9.809 billion (+21.4%), led by record shipments of avocados (US$1.452 billion), cacao beans (US$821 million), natural colorants (US$308 million), and pomegranates (US$114 million).
Other products that showed strong performance included grapes (+38%), mangoes (+61%), asparagus (+4%), pineapple (+105%), quinoa (+14%), and chili peppers (+11%).
In turn, the fishery sector exported goods worth US$3.853 billion (+22.2%), led by products such as squid (US$1.081 billion), fishmeal (US$1.677 billion), prawns (US$159 million), and fish roe (US$77 million).
Meanwhile, mining exports totaled US$40.923 billion (+19.3%), with gold shipments reaching US$13.930 billion, surpassing the 2024 record.
Sales of silver (+20%), lead (+20%), zinc (+17%), and copper (+12%) concentrates also increased.
Other sectors showing positive performance included chemicals (US$1.412 billion; +4.7%) due to products such as explosives, zinc oxide, and pharmaceuticals; and textiles-apparel (US$1.292 billion; +6.7%) thanks to increased shipments of clothing, fabrics, and fibers.
The number of exporting companies reached 8,869, a 3.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
Of these, 68% are MSMEs (micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises).
Markets
Peruvian goods exports reached 167 markets worldwide due to strong performance between January and September 2025.
As of September, record shipments were achieved to 10 destinations: the United Arab Emirates, Australia, Türkiye, Argentina, Singapore, Cambodia, Israel, Jordan, Zimbabwe, and Vanuatu.
During this period, China remained the main destination for Peruvian products due to shipments worth US$22.910 billion (+23%), followed by the European Union (US$7.240; +23.6%) and the United States (US$6.708 billion; + 8.2%).
During the analyzed period, 19 Peruvian regions increased their exports. These included Huanuco (141%), San Martin (107%), Amazonas (65%), Cajamarca (64%), Junin (59%), Lambayeque (52.7%), Ayacucho (47.4%), Apurimac (38.3%), Puno (37.6%), Madre de Dios (32.5%), Pasco (29%), La Libertad (18%), Arequipa (15.8%), Piura (14.9%), Moquegua (14.8%), Tumbes (10.6%), Tacna (9.1%), Loreto (1%), and Cusco (0.4%).
