The Peruvian National Police (PNP) arrested Peru-born model Nadeska Widausky Gallo, who was wanted by Belgian authorities under an Interpol red notice for her alleged involvement in crimes linked to human trafficking for sexual exploitation, among other related charges.
The police operation involving 33-year-old Widausky was carried out in Lima's Jesus Maria district as part of coordinated efforts to locate individuals wanted under international arrest warrants.
According to police information, the detainee is formally under investigation by Belgian authorities for her alleged participation in a criminal network involved in illicit activities related to sexual exploitation, pimping, and violent robbery.
Likewise, authorities detected an alleged imbalance in her assets, a situation that is part of the ongoing investigations.
At a press conference, Commander Jorge Antonio Perez, head of the International Division for the Search and Capture of Fugitives at Interpol Lima, reported that the model's arrest was the result of joint work between the Police Intelligence Division and the Interpol Lima National Central Bureau.
"The red notice was issued recently, on May 21; from that point onward she was being tracked in Lima," the police officer told TV Peru, after noting that Belgian authorities had sufficient evidence to request her international arrest.
He also clarified that Widausky has no outstanding arrest warrants or pending judicial proceedings in Peru.
"She has no arrest warrants or judicial requests pending in the country. If she were under investigation in Peru, she would be facing legal proceedings, but the red notice is international and originated in Belgium," Perez noted.
Regarding the proceedings following her arrest, the police chief explained that Widausky will undergo the required legal examinations and a forensic medical evaluation.
The detainee will then be transferred to the Aramburu Division, also in Lima, for full identification through the AFIS system.
Later, she will be placed at the disposal of Lima's criminal court on duty while extradition procedures are coordinated with Belgian authorities.
