Israeli Ambassador to Peru Gali Dagan stated on Monday that the governments of both countries have been working jointly on cybersecurity, for which they signed a memorandum of understanding.
Within this framework, the diplomat highlighted the presence of Israeli companies in Peru to provide services and training.
"We firmly believe that cybersecurity is a challenge that must be addressed jointly," the envoy stated.
"Therefore, in November 2025, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Peru's Secretariat of Government and Digital Transformation at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) and Israel's National Cyber Directorate," Dagan recalled.
"Through this agreement, we seek to deepen bilateral cooperation, promote technical workshops and training sessions with Israeli experts, establish working groups, and explore increasing opportunities for government and institutional cooperation," he added.
During the event "Cybersecurity from Israel: Threat Intelligence, Resilience, and Data Protection," the ambassador indicated that they also work constantly with Peru's private sector.
"Through our trade office, Peruvian companies have the direct opportunity to learn about and connect with leading firms in Israel's cybersecurity sector," Dagan stated.
"An example of this is the event we will hold today, which will be joined by Israeli companies specializing in such vital fields as threat intelligence, incident response, cyber training, data security, and dynamic security testing, among others," he added.
The Embassy in Lima announced the arrival of an official cybersecurity delegation in the South American country, comprising 10 leading Israeli companies: SecuPi, Kela, CybeReady, Cognyte, Critical Impact, Sasa Software, Sygnia, Bright, Charm, and Radware.
"The Israeli cybersecurity sector stands out globally for its ability to create, grow, and lead," the ambassador stated.
"Israel is characterized by setting the technological standard thanks to a dynamic ecosystem that hosts more than 1,000 startups and over 400 multinational companies that have chosen to establish their research and development centers in our country," Dagan added.
"Israel is recognized today as one of the world's leading cybersecurity powers. And it is not merely a matter of size, but of innovation, knowledge, and the ability to transform advanced technology into concrete solutions for governments, institutions, and companies," he said.
It should be noted that the Israel Trade Mission in Peru promotes technology transfer through tailored scouting services and B2B agendas for key sectors such as cybersecurity, fintech, mining, energy, healthcare, and telecommunications.
"The digital transformation of our economies has created enormous opportunities, but it has also brought increasingly complex cybersecurity challenges," Israel's Commercial Attache in Peru, Ohad Tsadok, said.
"Cyber threats know no borders; they affect governments, critical infrastructure, banks, industries, and companies of all sizes, here in Lima, in Tel Aviv, and around the world," he pointed out.
"Peru is undergoing an important digital transformation process. As the economy and industry become more connected, the need to protect information, systems, and critical infrastructure becomes increasingly important," Tsadok indicated.
"Our goal as an economic and trade mission in Peru is to connect Israeli innovation with the Peruvian market's needs and opportunities," he added.
