The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri Ore, thanked Congress for its vote of confidence in his Cabinet, which will allow his government to carry out its work for the country's security and development.

Last night, the full Congress of the Republic granted its vote of confidence to the Cabinet of Ministers, chaired by Ernesto Alvarez, who appeared before the national representatives to present the government's general policy and the main guidelines of his administration.

The backing up was approved with 79 votes in favor, 15 against, and 5 abstentions, granting the investiture to the Alvarez Cabinet, following a broad debate that lasted more than three hours.

According to Article 130 of the Constitution, within 30 days of assuming office, the President of the Council of Ministers must appear before Congress, accompanied by the other ministers, to present and discuss the government's general policy and the main measures required for his administration, and to request a vote of confidence to work with the Cabinet of Ministers.

Through his institutional account on the social media platform X, the Presidency of the Republic of Peru expressed its gratitude to the Cabinet of Ministers for its vote of confidence.

"We welcome the receipt of the vote of confidence by the transition and reconciliation cabinet, and we thank Congress for its trust in a government that will win the war against crime, sustain economic growth, and guarantee democratic elections in 2026," stated.

"We believe in dialogue and working together for a safer Peru!" emphasized.

Likewise, the President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, expressed his gratitude on his personal account on the social media platform X, for the confidence Congress had placed in his Cabinet, led by Ernesto Alvarez.

"Our commitment now is to put what has been discussed into action regarding dialogue and reconciliation," stated President Jeri.

For his part, the President of the Council of Ministers, Ernesto Alvarez, also thanked Congress for granting the Cabinet a majority vote of confidence.

He stated that the current moment will go down in the country's history, given the opportunity institutions have today to demonstrate that they are up to their mission of serving the citizens and reaffirming the validity of the democratic system.

Alvarez Miranda maintained that the country is currently going through a difficult time due to the wave of insecurity. In response, the government has outlined its objectives: democratic transition and stability; boosting the economy and unblocking investments; national reconciliation; and citizen security and national defense.

"These goals cannot be achieved by the Executive Branch alone. We need all branches of government, including the Judiciary and the Public Prosecutor's Office, to work together to achieve these objectives through dialogue and consensus-building," he stated before the full Congress.

The Chief of Staff also indicated that he promises hard work from each of the ministers and their respective technical groups, made up of professionals with significant experience in the public sector, many of them young.
