Peru's Ambassador presents letters of credence to People's Republic of China

The Ambassador of the Republic of Peru to the People's Republic of China, Carlos Vasquez Corrales, presented his letters of credence to President Xi Jinping during an official ceremony held recently in Beijing.

The ceremony was conducted in a solemn atmosphere and in accordance with the diplomatic protocol established by Chinese authorities.

During the first part of this ceremony, the diplomat conveyed the Peruvian State's greetings. 

Furthermore, he recalled President Xi Jinping's three previous visits to Peru, expressing the wish to welcome him once again.

The Peruvian envoy also held a brief protocol exchange with China's Foreign Affairs Minister Wang Yi, who was accompanying the Head of State.

In the second part of the ceremony, President Xi Jinping addressed the newly accredited ambassadors, highlighting the friendly and stable nature of China's diplomatic relations and reaffirming his country's commitment to multilateralism and international law.

Likewise, the Head of State recalled the main global initiatives promoted by China and invited the diplomatic representatives to get to know the Asian country in all its diversity.

Finally, he wished the ambassadors success in the performance of their duties and offered China's support in achieving that goal.

Vasquez Corrales was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to the People's Republic of China in August 2025.
