Peruvian economy will accelerate in the fourth quarter of 2018, Central Reserve Bank (BCR) affirmed.
According to Economic Studies Department Manager Jorge Estrella, GDP growth will be higher in the fourth quarter compared to the previous one.
The lower dynamism recorded in June and July was temporary and linked to primary sectors' deceleration, the official explained.
"We will see a recovery of the primary sectors in the fourth quarter, both of the
fishery sector —due to a second fishing season— as well as of the
mining and hydrocarbons (segment)," he indicated.
With regard to the
mining sphere, the third quarter registered a contraction due to a price effect caused by the
trade war.
However, a higher production is expected in the last three months of 2018.
