WEF invites Peru's President to Annual Meeting in 2023

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo has been invited to participate in the Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) —scheduled for January 2023.

The founder of the Davos Forum, Klaus Schwab, issued the invitation for the Head of State, Peru's diplomatic representation before multilateral organizations based in Geneva, Switzerland, reported on Friday.

The World Economic Forum will be held on January 16-20 of next year.

Motivations and interest

According to Peruvian diplomacy, the interest in the inclusion of our country in the future meeting was motivated by the active participation that other representatives of the Executive Branch had at events of this forum.

Within this framework, the participation of First Vice-President of the Republic Dina Boluarte and Economy-Finance Minister Oscar Graham in the WEF Forum held last May was mentioned.

The meeting between Foreign Affairs Minister Cesar Landa and WEF President Børge Brende, in Switzerland, was also taken into account.

Founded in 1971, the World Economic Forum is an organization whose members hold an Annual Meeting in the Swiss city of Davos.

The group is made up of heads of state, politicians, businesspeople, intellectuals, and journalists focused on analyzing the problems facing the world and raising solutions in this regard.
