President Martin Vizcarra has announced that only the Venezuelan citizens —who hold passports and humanitarian visas— will be allowed to enter Peruvian territory starting June 15.

In this sense, Venezuela's citizens residing in the Bolivarian country, who wish to travel to the Andean nation, must request humanitarian visas at the Consulates General in Caracas and Puerto Ordaz.

However, due to the humanitarian crisis, Venezuelans will be allowed to apply for humanitarian visas at the Peruvian Consulates General based in Colombia (Bogota, Medellin, and Leticia) and Ecuador (Cuenca, Guayaquil, Quito, Machala, and Loja).

Likewise, Venezuelan nationals will be able to request tourist, business, or different types of visas at any Inca country's consulate located abroad.

Furthermore, the Foreign Affairs Ministry urged each Venezuelan citizen to obtain a corresponding visa before leaving for Peru or arriving at any Peruvian immigration checkpoint.

Peru currently hosts 800,000 Venezuelans.
