Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez announced that —as of Wednesday— Peru becomes the first country in the region to implement a national open data platform on the process of vaccination against COVID-19.

The high-ranking official specified that —at the international level— only France and the United Kingdom have done something similar.

"Today, Peru becomes the first country in the region to implement its national open data platform on the vaccination process, (...) this represents an important act of transparency for our country," she expressed.

Likewise, the Cabinet chief specified that this platform will be available to all citizens.

Contracts

Moreover, the Prime Minister deemed as false the claims suggesting that the Executive Branch had not signed any contracts for the procurement of vaccines against COVID-19.

In this sense, Bermudez recalled that 13.2 million vaccine doses were agreed with the COVAX Facility, also with Pfizer (20 million doses), and AstraZeneca (14 million doses).
