Peruvian delegation parades at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics opening ceremony

The Peruvian delegation made its entrance at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games held on Tuesday at Tokyo's Olympic Stadium.

Flag bearers Angelica Espinoza (Para taekwondo) and Efrain Sotacuro (Para athletics) led the parade of Peruvian athletes into the stadium.

Team Peru entered the arena after the Belarusian delegation. The contingent members wore a white, red, and black outfit.

Peru will be represented by 11 Para athletes, who make up the largest delegation that the South American nation has sent to the Paralympics.

In total, the country has won 8 Paralympic medals, three of which were gold —one was grabbed by Maria Teresa Chiappo (Para table tennis) and two by Jimmy Eulert (Para swimming).

As is known, the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will run from August 24 through September 5 this year.
