Peru's Prime Minister Betssy Chavez on Monday called on the Congress of the Republic to build communication bridges, as part of the presentation and debate over the Bill on the Public Budget for the Fiscal Year 2023.

After presenting the budget of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) and its attached agencies for 2023, the Cabinet chief said she was convinced that a high-level debate will be held with all members of Parliament.

"Ultimately, we have to put all citizens above ourselves," she remarked.

Likewise, the Prime Minister affirmed that she understood that many of the proposals specified in Congress' decision on the Budget Bill respond to some additional demands, as some parliamentarians have made it clear.

In this regard, Chavez affirmed that she agrees with Budget Commission Chairman Jose Luna that a budget with a social and human focus is needed.

"Let us reach agreements, looking into the most remote regions, and let us work together firmly during the next three days until November 30, when we are entrusted to provide the most important law to the country," she stated.

Moreover, the Prime Minister called for working for all Peruvians and for overcoming rumors.

Congress Chairman Jose Williams Zatapa suspended the plenary session until 3:00 p.m. following the presentation by Economy-Finance Minister Kurt Burneo on his sector's budget.
