The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Thursday affirmed that he is reviewing names to appoint the new minister of foreign affairs, noting that no one has been ruled out for the post.

"The name will be known in the afternoon. We are ensuring that the persons who are going to assume this responsibility will be able to put on the agenda the agreements that we have been negotiating with countries in relation to the vaccines," he indicated.

The Head of State stressed the importance of listening to the people who are being evaluated because there is a need to determine how Peru will be inserted in the world through the ministry of foreign affairs.

In statements to the press, the top official assured that nobody has been ruled out for the post, noting that a conversation must be held with these persons first.

"I call on the population to be prepared to get vaccinated, this is beyond any activity or person," he pointed out.

When asked about the statements of former Foreign Affairs Minister Hector Bejar, Mr. Castillo said, "whatever hurts the country, as well as its organizations and institutions, will be rejected, and this will always be so."

In addition, the Peruvian President commented that Bejar has been requested to give an explanation to the country.
