Peruvian President Francisco Sagasti currently chairs the first session of the Council of State under his leadership in order to build consensus for the benefit of citizens and the country's development.

The meeting is attended by Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez, Interior Minister Ruben Vargas, as well as the heads of Congress, the Judiciary, and the Public Ministry.

The chiefs of the Ombudsman's Office and the National Justice Board also participate in this session.

In a televised Address to the Nation, the Head of State said that a base commission will be created, so that —within a period of 60 days— measures are enacted to modernize and strengthen the police sector.
