The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte, through her lawyer Mateo Castañeda, asked the Attorney General's Office to take her investigative statement "immediately" within the framework of the investigation into the Rolex case.

According to the document, the Head of State requests that her statement be taken immediately in order to clarify the facts under investigation as soon as possible and to annul the previously scheduled appointment time.

The letter refers to the political turbulence that has been occurring as a result of the different proceedings carried out by the Attorney General's office.

The President's request was sent to the Attorney General, through the Illicit Enrichment and Constitutional Complaints Section.

On March 18, the Attorney General's Office reported that it had decided to initiate a preliminary investigation against the President of the Republic Dina Boluarte for the alleged commission of the crime of illicit enrichment and the failure to record a statement in documents in relation to media reports on the use of Rolex watches.
