The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Monday pledged that a S/100 million (about US$26.6 million) budget will be available next year to serve the beneficiaries of the "Vaso de Leche" (Glass of Milk) feeding program.

"The Glass of Milk program has a budget to serve sisters, brothers, boys, girls, and vulnerable people this year, and S/100 million (about US$26.6 million) has been earmarked for next year," she stated.

The Head of State highlighted that the incorporation of the Glass of Milk to the Midis allows for better organization of nominal data to know how many beneficiaries there are at the national level, which will also allow for adjustments to the budget.

On the other hand, the dignitary affirmed that her government is about to complete one year in office, during which time it has addressed the country's needs that have been postponed for years and overshadowed by acts of corruption.

"We are going to complete one year in office, and the Executive Branch has not been accused of having committed corruption during these 12 months. That is a guarantee and pride of dignity of this President, of continuing along this sincere path. Besides, it will be so until July 28, 2026, upon leaving the government," she stated.

Moreover, the top official called on authorities to work wholeheartedly to resolve the needs of the population, and to do so honestly.

"Not only the Central Government but also regional governments, local governments, and other institutions, everyone must respond to the people honestly, it is a budget whose funds come from the taxes they collect," she said.

As is known, the "Vaso de Leche" (Glass of Milk) initiative is administered under the supervision of the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis).
