Peruvian Prime Minister Alberto Otarola stressed the importance of ensuring the participation of the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, in the forthcoming summit of Amazon countries, to be held in August in the Brazilian city of Belém.

"We hope that our Constitutional President will attend the summit of Amazonian presidents in person, in order to share the country's vision of the Amazon," Otarola remarked.

Moreover, the Cabined chief called on Congress to schedule, in a plenary session, the bill regulating the President's trips abroad.

At a press conference after the session of the Council of Ministers, the government official noted the agreements contained in the Brasilia Consensus, which Peru signed after the Presidential Summit of South American Countries.

Also, he highlighted the coincidences with the Government of Brazil regarding the protection of indigenous peoples and watersheds.

"More than four million Peruvians living in the Amazon require immediate attention from the State and from the whole of South America, which is making progress towards integration," the Prime Minister stated.

Furthermore, the high-ranking official referred to the decision of the Executive Branch to return the enrolled bill that eliminates octagonal warnings in baby formulas.

"This proves the interest of the Government that the public regulation on octagonal warnings shall be respected by every sector in the country," he added.

Moreover, Otarola indicated that the Council of Ministers has approved 4 bills to define boundaries between the regions of Ancash and La Libertad; Huancavelica and Lima; Cusco and Junin; as well as Lambayeque and La Libertad.

"This arduous work, which has involved technical teams from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) and regional authorities, will be submitted to the Congress of the Republic, which is in charge of defining the boundaries at the request of the Executive Branch," he stated.
