Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Cesar Landa on Thursday morning participated in the Ministerial Meeting of the Summit Implementation Review Group (SIRG).

Chaired by United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken, the meeting took place within the framework of the 52nd General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), which will be held from October 5 to 7 in the Peruvian capital, Lima.

The timetable and working procedures to make progress in fulfilling the five commitments adopted at the IX Summit of the Americas were approved at this meeting.

During his participation, Minister Landa highlighted that these documents will allow Member States to fulfill the responsibility of putting the agreements and consensus visions into action.

Moreover, the high-ranking official remarked that the implementation of the Action Plan on Democratic Governance must be in tune with the follow-up mechanism of the Lima Commitment: Democratic Governance Against Corruption adopted at the VIII Summit of the Americas in 2018.

In addition, he expressed Peru's interest in beginning work on the Action Plan on Health and Resilience in the Americas, of which Peru, together with Uruguay, was responsible for facilitating its negotiation for its declaration.
