The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Wednesday oversaw the transfer to the city of Trujillo of an 18-year-old citizen who suffered injuries due to the landslide of a part of La Esperanza Hill, in the town of Retamas, Pataz province, northern Peru.

Rescued yesterday, the young man today was taken in a Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) ambulance to Parcoy district stadium, where he boarded a helicopter accompanied by his father.

Once in the city, he will be admitted to the Regional Hospital to receive specialized care.

President Castillo —joined by Ministers Jose Gavidia (Defense) and Geiner Alvarado (Housing)— supervised the search for missing persons and assistance to the victims whose homes were buried by the landslide last Tuesday.
