The President of the Republic Martin Vizcarra on Saturday participated in the presentation of the new Care and Isolation Center for coronavirus patients, which was implemented at Lima's Hipolito Unanue Hospital.

The new facilities —set up in a space of more than 3,000 square meters— were developed by the Lima 2019 Pan American and Parapan American Games Special Legacy Project.

The Hipolito Unanue Hospital currently has 250 beds intended for patients diagnosed with coronavirus. In the next few days —in addition to the 100 beds placed in the isolation center— other 50 will be added, which would make a total of 400.

Besides, more than 120 health professionals will provide care in this area.

It must be noted the health center entailed an investment of S/2.27 million (about US$646,000).
