Peru: President Jeri visits Ica region's monitoring and surveillance center

The President of the Republic, Jose Jeri, visited the monitoring and surveillance center operated by the Tupac Amaru Municipality in Pisco, Ica region, on Thursday.

The Head of State received a technical briefing from local authorities on the monitoring center's operations and equipment.

These facilities help improve authorities' rapid response to ensure public safety in the face of violent acts and natural disasters.

The Head of State was accompanied by Ministers Lesly Shica (Social Development and Inclusion) and Vicente Tiburcio (Interior).

The President has been carrying out a series of activities in this region, which he arrived in during the early hours.


Afterwards, he presented a commemorative medal to the Brotherhood of the Lord of Agony at Belen Church, in recognition by the State of living culture, traditions, and faith as elements that strengthen identity and social cohesion.



San Martin Port

The President later carried out an operational inspection visit to the General San Martin Port Terminal in Paracas, one of the main logistics infrastructures in Ica region.

The port plays a strategic role in the regional and national economy, as it handles cargo linked to fishing activity and foreign trade.

The Head of State's visit to the facilities included a technical inspection of the terminal's operations, followed by a tour of the operations tower, from which a panoramic view of port activities could be observed.



Cite Agroindustrial

As part of his official agenda, the President also inspected the Agroindustrial Cite in Ica, together with Production Minister Cesar Quispe.

During the visit, the Head of State harvested grape clusters while receiving a technical briefing on the industrialization process of this emblematic product of Ica region.

The tour included the agricultural area, laboratories, food-processing facilities, and the agroindustrial pilot plant, where added value is generated for local production, including Peru's flagship beverage, Pisco, and other distillates.
