Peru: President holds meeting with Attorney General's Office members

The President of the Republic Pedro Castillo currently holds a meeting with members of the Attorney General's Office at the Government Palace in Lima, the Press Secretariat of the Presidential Office has reported.

The event sees the participation of Mr. Castillo's attorney, Eduardo Pachas, as well as the team of prosecutors led by Deputy Supreme Prosecutor, Ramiro Gonzalez —Coordinator of the Constitutional Complaints Section at the Attorney General's Office.

Prosecutor Gonzalez is in charge of collecting the testimony of President Castillo. He replaces Attorney General Zoraida Avalos, who is on medical leave.

The Head of State provides his testimony on the Armed Forces promotion process.

On November 11, the Public Ministry head opened an investigation against ex-Defense Minister Walter Ayala, ex-Secretary General at the Presidential Office Bruno Pacheco, and those to be found responsible for the alleged crimes of abuse of authority and illegal sponsorship.
