The
President of the Republic Pedro Castillo on Tuesday participated in the closing ceremony of the 2021 academic year of the National Merchant Marine Academy.
The event —held in Callao region— saw the presence of 11 merchant marine cadets, as well as 24 Maritime and Port Administration students.
During his speech, the Head of State recalled that the COVID-19 pandemic put the importance of this sector in the spotlight, noting that ships continued sailing and ports remained open, so as to maintain the distribution of essential supplies.
Likewise, the top official stressed that the Merchant Marine plays a crucial role in the training of professionals and their improvement thanks to continuous education.
