on Wednesday reaffirmed the Government's commitment to enhancing the operational and logistical capabilities of the Peruvian National Police (PNP) in its fight against crime and citizen insecurity.
"In my capacity as Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces and the Peruvian National Police, I want to reaffirm that my Government continues to advance in order to strengthen the operational capabilities of our police by providing it with the logistics it requires for the best performance of duties," she stated.
The Head of State underscored that the police institution is made up of brave women and men, who come from the northern, central, and southern areas of Peru.
"Dear police (members), we know of the commitment that you have (made) to the homeland; you wear the homeland's uniform, and day after day you are there in the vicinity throughout the length and breadth of our homeland, defending domestic order; our democracy must be strengthened by defending the life of each citizen," she said.
Mrs. Boluarte indicated that the work carried out by the police generates pride in each Peruvian, since "we know that you take care of our lives because, joined by you, Peru will continue to advance in that search for development, for that peace that we long for."
"It is important to highlight that in recent months our Peruvian National Police has dismantled more than 10,000 criminal gangs and managed to capture of 30 leaders of criminal gangs, such as El Tren de Aragua (The Aragua Train) and Los Gallegos," she added.
