12:37 | Lima, Jun. 9.

Peruvian Prime Minister Vicente Zeballos held a meeting with representatives of more than 22 non-governmental organizations in order to reach consensus on the Government's guidelines for a new coexistence to tackle COVID-19.

"Our commitment is that this type of meetings be held regularly, and that we define a specific agenda, in which commitments can be assumed and the progress monitored," said the head of the Ministerial Cabinet.

In this regard, the high-ranking official highlighted the recommendations made by specialists for strengthening transparency.

"This type of dialogue encourages you to help us consolidate a true transparency process. We do our best, but it will always be insufficient due to the country's structural problems," he added.

Likewise, Zeballos reiterated the Executive Branch's willingness to boost public investment, which will play a leading role in the economic revival.

The meeting was attended Ministers Gloria Montenegro (Women-Vulnerable Populations), Sylvia Caceres (Labor-Employment Promotion), and Ariela Luna (Development-Social Inclusion), as well as representatives of the Ministries of Justice-Human Rights and Culture.

Representatives of the National Coordinator for Human Rights (CNDDHH), Transparency Civil Association, Muqui Network, the Study for the Defense of Women's Rights, the Presence and Word Group: Afro-Peruvian Women, and Proética, among others also attended the event.
